The National Primate Research Centre of Thailand, Chulalongkorn University or the NPRCT-CU has been awarded as “FULLY ACCREDITATION” from the AAALAC International-Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International in February, 2020. AAALAC International is a world renown organisation that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs.
The NPRCT-CU is one and only primate centre in Thailand that has been fully accredited with world-class standard. This is to certify and confirm that the programme and operations conducting in the NPRCT-CU has been doing complying with the world-class standard. Not only the care and animal used programme that is conducting with humane and good practicing, but also the occupational health and safety for personnel working in the NPRCT-CU are overseeing and care with international standard. These accredited programme and operation are ensuring that the research and investigation in the NPRCT-CU are reliable, traceable with highest quality.
The AAALAC accreditation in which awarded has been done successfully by the tireless and united effort of all of the NPRCT-CU personnel. This is the remarkable cornerstone of the research and development of Thailand since the primate centre play an active role in biomedical research chain especially drug and vaccine development in the country, and of course, for the benefit of mankind. Most importantly, the animal well-being and humane treatment must be kept in mind and practiced with every fibre of the NPRCT-CU being.
AAALAC International is a private, non-profit organization that promotes the humane treatment of animals in science through voluntary accreditation and assessment programs. More than 1,000 companies, universities, hospitals, government agencies and other research institutions in 49 countries have earned AAALAC accreditation, demonstrating their commitment to responsible animal care and use.
