This week we have received great pleasure to welcome the International Advisory Board (IAB) of National Primate Research Centre of Thailand-Chulalongkorn University (NPRCT) to the very first meeting, held in Bangkok and Saraburi province, Thailand.

The IAB is the committee of the invited experts in eminent Primate Centre around the world. They play vital role in helping the NPRCT to reach her missions and guidance to its excellence. We have an honour from Professor Dr. John L. VandeBerg, the former director of the Southwest National Primate Research Center and Professor of University of Texas Rio Grande Valley (UTRCV), to be a Chairperson of the board. The members of the board are as followed:

The opening was held at Chulalongkorn University Thai Pavillions, welcoming by Prof.Dr.Kiat Ruxrungtham, the Vice President for Research and Innovation. The meeting at the following days was held at Pathumwan Princess, Bangkok. The board received updates on the centre, from the director, Prof.Dr.Suchinda Malaivijitnond and colleagues. This centre vision is being a leading primate research centre in Asia with world class standardisation. The board also noted that the progress was prolonged but has been promisingly moving forward. The members of IAB also visited the centre at Saraburi province to see the infrastructure and management of animal caretaking. The centre received positive invaluable comments from the committee. The board also gave supportive suggestions that the progressing of the centre in this coming year is ready for the AAALACi (The Association for Assessment and Accreditation of Laboratory Animal Care International) accreditation.  This meeting is not only for the international assessment and guidance from the experts, but also invaluable connection and future collaboration with NPRCT research and working in the year to come, for complete the centre mission and to the benefit of mankind.
